Chapter 1: The Descent into the Rabbit Hole
At times, it feels as if I am trapped in a rabbit hole where the conventional rules of existence simply do not apply. When I glance in the mirror, the image that reflects back at me appears to be a staggering 60 pounds heavier. Though others might not perceive this larger version of myself, it remains an undeniable reality for me.
In this dark place, food and hunger are viewed as adversaries—symbols of frailty that bring forth feelings of shame. I find myself mired in despair, mourning my inability to completely distance myself from food. Unlike the outside world, where "they" can indulge in meals and laughter, I dwell in a space consumed by darkness, where only despair resides.
Recently, I have started to distinguish between my existence and the lives of others. I am beginning to yearn for the freedom that they experience. They seem to navigate their days without the burden of emotionally punishing themselves for each bite they take.
Determined to reclaim my life, I have chosen to gather the powerful tools and insights that I had previously cast aside. With these resources, I am meticulously building a ladder that will enable my ascent to a realm where individuals embrace their true selves.
This is the place I aspire to reach—a space of liberation and self-acceptance!
