No Lazy Sundays for Us

Do you really think Sundays are for lounging around? While many do, our team at Illumination and Illumination-Curated has no such luxury. Our weekends are filled with activity as we remain engaged on Slack, ensuring our creativity flows even on days typically reserved for rest.

You might wonder if we’re pressured to work or if we’re compensated with hefty paychecks. What we truly gain is far beyond monetary rewards. We receive mutual respect, admiration, and support from one another, which is why we cherish our time on Slack — it’s not just work; it’s a passion we embrace wholeheartedly.

The Sunday Brunch Experience

As I pen this down, it’s a sunny morning somewhere in the world, and I imagine others are diving into Slack just as quickly as they would their favorite messaging apps. We exchange morning greetings and discuss whether we’re ready to tackle our editing tasks immediately or later. Conversations about breakfast and lunch soon fill the chat, and thus, our brunch commences. Alongside discussions of food, we also delve into correcting grammar, shortening paragraphs, and ending our conversations on a sweet note, much like spreading jam on toast.

Conversations and Connections

Interaction is key, and we don’t just communicate among ourselves on the editorial channel; we also engage with our writers through private messages. Our exchanges are often light-hearted, even when some may overlook our efforts. In those moments of frustration, we lift each other up, reminding ourselves of the supportive network we’ve built.

The Choice of Leadership

Choosing the right people is crucial, and I believe the universe aligns like-minded individuals. We were fortunate to cross paths with our visionary leader, Dr. Mehmet Yildiz, who selects editors with great care. His ability to bring the right people together is remarkable, and thankfully, our channel has never been a place of conflict. Dr. Yildiz empowers us all equally, demonstrating unmatched leadership.
