The Early Years
Aaron Lawrence Solomon entered the world in March 1969, born to Linda Scott and Thomas L. Solomon.
Angelia “Angie” Huffines, born in November 1969 in Gainesboro, Tennessee, described her childhood as deeply religious yet marked by abuse. She and her sister Julie faced cruelty at home, with Angie recalling her father’s harshness and her mother's battles with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. One event she recounted involved her mother attempting to harm Julie during one of her episodes.
Angelia and Aaron met in high school, where Angelia was known for her beauty, height, and talents in basketball and singing. Aaron developed an obsession with her, leading to stalking and harassment that left Angelia frightened. Despite his advances, she had no romantic feelings for him.
After graduation, they pursued different paths and lost contact.
Angelia attended Lipscomb University, marrying her boyfriend Stephan Britt on October 3, 1992, after completing her education. She later earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1997.
Aaron graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1989 and embarked on a career as a news anchor and reporter for Nashville’s WSMV in 1996.
Eventually, Angelia divorced Stephan and confided to a close friend that he had once attempted to kill her.

Aaron's reply was a lengthy three-page email, which Angelia perceived as a sign of his desire to reconnect.
Despite her misgivings about his past behavior, she agreed to meet him for lunch. Their interaction further soured her opinion of him. Nonetheless, when he invited her to a Tennessee Titans game in Jacksonville, Florida, on September 23, 2001, she accepted.
When asked if the trip was a date, Angelia quickly dismissed the idea, asserting her lack of romantic interest and confidence in her ability to defend herself if necessary. However, things took a dark turn when they found themselves alone in a hotel room with just one bed. After accepting a Mountain Dew from Aaron, Angelia warned him not to touch her before falling asleep.
Upon waking, she found Aaron on top of her, having
