Engaging with My Medium Subscribers: A Special Update

Chapter 1: A Warm Greeting
Hello everyone! I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful summer and taking time to unwind and have some fun.
As we wrap up June and transition into July, I want to take a moment to share some changes I’m making here on Medium. Since the introduction of Medium’s email feature, I’ve welcomed a few new subscribers each month. To the 82 of you reading this via email, I truly appreciate your support.
In the beginning, I didn't utilize the Medium email feature much beyond simply checking the box to “Send the link to your email subscribers.” My audience was quite small at that time, and Medium was just a casual blogging endeavor.
However, my career transitions in 2023 have led to an increase in my activity on Medium, resulting in significant growth over the past year.
As my email list expands, one persistent question has been on my mind.
> I have noticed people subscribing to my content, but I’m uncertain if I’m delivering what they originally signed up for.
Section 1.1: Understanding My Audience
On Medium, I cover a variety of subjects. This diversity has made it challenging for me to determine which articles should be sent out via email. For instance, subscribers who joined after reading my stock market investment pieces are likely interested in more investment-related content.
If I were to send them an article on blogging or productivity tips, it might not align with their interests. While some may be interested in everything I write, I’m not sure, and this uncertainty has been weighing on me for several months.
As I pondered this and experimented with sending weekly newsletters, I realized the best solution is to give you the chance to select your preferred topics.
Subsection 1.1.1: Tailoring Content to Your Interests
This approach allows those of you who are only interested in specific articles to easily communicate your preferences, leading to a more organized inbox.
Choose Your Interests Below
Click here to subscribe and specify your content preferences.
By following the link, you’ll be prompted to provide your name and email address, as well as select the topics you’re interested in. My current writing revolves around investing, self-improvement, and making money online. You can choose any combination of these options.
By indicating your interests, I’ll be able to categorize you accordingly and send more relevant content your way. This may include not just blog posts, but also potential freebies and gifts in the future.
If you prefer not to fill out the form, that’s perfectly fine! You will automatically be placed in the “all of the above” category and receive all of my published articles on Medium.
Chapter 2: Exclusive Access for Non-Member Subscribers
The first video titled "How To Read Medium Articles For Free!" explores strategies to access content without a membership. This can be particularly useful for those looking to maximize their reading experience without additional costs.
Additionally, for my non-member subscribers, I will provide free access to all my articles.
Of course, it would be beneficial for everyone to consider a membership, as there are numerous excellent writers on this platform to discover.
More details about this Friend Link database will be shared soon, and if you're subscribed, you'll receive these updates.
The second video, "My Thoughts About Medium Membership," discusses the advantages of having a Medium membership and how it enhances the reading experience.
What Would You Like to See?
And that’s a wrap! I want to express my sincere gratitude for being an essential part of my readership. To me, email subscribers represent real individuals engaging with my articles, not just numbers.
I genuinely want to hear from you. What would you like to see from me? What challenges are you currently facing?
Any feedback is immensely valuable, and I aspire to be a resource that can help address your needs.
