Historical patterns show that ethical boundaries are frequently disregarded when technology advances rapidly. For instance, we often witness new inventions being tested before ethical debates even begin. Or, when public backlash becomes overwhelming, corporations might pause their operations temporarily, paying hefty fines as if they were mere inconveniences.
To prevent the potential collapse of society, it may be prudent to halt any attempts at playing God. The destructive power of exponential technologies could equal that of countless Hiroshima bombs if misused by unregulated and malicious individuals.
